What is Computer Science/Information Technology?
Computer Science is the study of the theory and methods of processing data information in a digital computer. In other words, Computer Science teaches the student to get computers to do what you want them to do. The practical side of computing can be seen everywhere and requires intensive hands-on experience to learn the computing system, computer science can also be seen on a higher level, as a science of problem-solving. The three main Computer Science categories include designing and building software, solving problems in computing and create better ways to utilize computers.
Information Technology (IT) is a business sector that focuses on the component of the computing which involve hardware, software, telecommunications and other components that deal with information transmittal. In other words, IT is closely concerned with the machines, such as how computer chips are produced and how to process the input as well as the output of data effectively.
All by all, both Computer Science and Information Technology student will be expected to learn programming language such as Java, C++. The student will also be introduced to more complex coding methods as student dive deep into the programming system later, this includes Prolog, Scheme, and machine code, also known as assembly language programming.
