What is Political Science?

Political Science also known as Politology, is a study of governance and analysis of political activities, political thoughts, and political behaviour. It focuses on human nature and moral purposes of political association. 

There are a few major subfields of Political Science:

Political Theory

This subfield studies the foundations of political communities and institutions to focus and understand human nature and moral purposes behind it.

Comparative Politics

This is to provide an understanding of the reason behind why different societies develop different types of political institutions. Also, this subfield will judge which political systems provide the best values in terms of freedom, equality, or economic security.

International Relations

This field studies how nations interact with each other. Not only that, this subfield focuses on finding out why war starts, who wins, who suffers from losses, and how to prevent war from happening again. 

Political Methodology

This subfield uses quantitative and qualitative methods to study politics. Quantitative methods such as statistics, mathematics, and computers to analyze political data. As for qualitative methods, students will be conducting research through seminars, finding explanations, and truth of the political stands.
