计算机科学与信息技术的区别是什么? 你应该选择哪一个?

Sharing is caring :)

Computer Science

Information Technology (IT)

Top E-Commerce Degrees & Courses in Malaysia

Sharing is caring :)

The E-Commerce sector has undoubtedly been growing immensely. At the same time the amount of e-commerce professionals have also been getting higher with the increasing demand for them.

So if you are someone interested in this field, this is the perfect time for you to kickstart your career.

Down below, we have come up with a guide for all of you looking to explore the options you have for E-Commerce courses you have in Malaysia.

What is E-commerce?

E-commerce is the shortened form of electronic commerce. It is simply the buying and selling of things online via the internet. It involves transferring money and data to complete purchases and sales.

Today, from the smallest convenience store to freelancers to big corporations, everyone utilizes e-commerce to operate their transactions and make it more convenient for them and their customers as well.

Here, we have few examples of the types of e-commerce:

Retail

Retail is directly selling to customers without the need for an intermediary.

Digital products

These are products that can be downloaded, such as e-books, templates or softwares that can be used for different purposes. Softwares and various applications make up a large percentage of e-commerce. A familiar example of a digital good might be Adobe softwares.

Drop shipping

Dropshipping is the selling of products that are manufactured and shipped to the buyers or customers using a third party.

Services

Services consist of skills, such as, writing, photography, influencer marketing, which can all be paid for on the internet.

Wholesale

Wholesale products are bulk products sold to retailers. The retailers then proceed to sell the goods directly to the customers.

Subscriptions

A subscription service is the continuous purchase of a product or service on a regular basis. A familiar example of a subscription that we all love would be, Netflix and Spotify.

Crowdfunding

Sellers will use crowdfunding to generate startup money to get their product to market. The item is produced and delivered after a sufficient number of customers have bought it.

Some Successful E-commerce Sites

Benefits of E-Commerce

The reason why e-commerce is so popular in today’s world is because of the many benefits it provides us with.

  • Convenience

E-Commerce provides customers and sellers with utmost convenience by making purchases simpler, faster and less-time consuming, while also allowing 24 hours sales, easy refunds and quick delivery.

  • Personalization and Customer Experience

E-Commerce helps businesses make their marketplace more personalized by allowing them to create rich user profiles where customers are offered personalized products and suggested other products that they might be interested in. This whole experience improves customer satisfaction on a personal level, increasing brand loyalty and sales.

  • Global marketplace

E-commerce allows businesses to reach customers all over the world, while also allowing customers to purchase from businesses all over the world. E-commerce has completely helped us overcome the restrictions that come with geography.

  • Minimizes expenses

Online startups cost way less than the traditional businesses where brick and mortar are required.

Why Study E-commerce?

This program can be specifically appealing to those of you interested in the technological side of business operations.

Amid the pandemic, e-commerce has skyrocketed in growth. With countries being under lockdown in various parts of the world, the world is getting more used to operating most of their economy online, paving the way for more expansion in the e-commerce industry.

E-commerce penetration rates are expected to rise from 15% in 2020 to 25% in 2025. Hence, providing more employment opportunities with the increasing need to satisfy customers shopping online.

Shift can be swift and vast in an ever-expanding industry like e-commerce. Rather than being a challenge, the industry’s transformation has resulted in more progressive functions for employees to excel in. Even with AI and other forms of technology, it is obvious that the human touch is still needed to keep the demand rising. Not to mention the development and application of the technology. To excel, you’ll need a mix of expertise from different industries, both online and offline.

In a global pandemic as such, perhaps the e-commerce industry is the most resilient industry around, considering there are fewer employment opportunities for most sectors due to weakened global economy. The E-commerce sector is definitely the sector being relied upon more, rather than less, during the current crisis.

Studying e-commerce will teach you the essential skills needed for this new new economy and apply e-commerce technologies to businesses. It will provide you with the competency to operate and manage e-business activities on the internet.

Main Roles and Responsibilities of Human Resources

Human Resource departments are required to support the growth of the organisation they work in. The nature of the work varies according to the organisation. The common roles and responsibilities include:

    • Recruiting employees by crafting job descriptions and skill specifications, preparing job advertisements, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing and hiring the best candidates.
    • Implement policies on issues such as working conditions, performance management, disciplinary procedures and absence management.
    • Process payroll and maintain employee records.
    • Analyse training needs for employees with departmental managers and develop training programs to improve staff performance
    • Handling employee concerns, including handling difficult situations such as sexual harassment or discrimination in the workplace.
    • Collaborate with other departments involved in policy areas such as staff performance and health and safety.

Functional Areas of Human Resource Management

Recruitment and staffing

Scouting and hiring of candidates are the major functions of the HR department. HR managers touch every part of the recruitment process, which includes reviewing resumes, conducting preliminary interviews, and processing offer letters.

Training and development

Human Resource organizes training programs to help employees excel in their daily tasks. They will also oversee employees’ performance, manager’s feedback and the results to determine if more training is required.

Compensation and benefits

Staff compensation and benefits could save a company from losing talented employees to competitors. Human Resource is responsible for creating competitive benefits such as health insurance, retirement accounts, sick leave, family leave and much more. They will have to negotiate to ensure their employees are satisfied and motivated to work in their company.

Human resources compliance

Compliance with laws of labour and employment is the most crucial Human Resource function. Human Resource professionals are responsible for creating policies and procedure as well as keep updated on all the relevant labour and employment laws constituted by the federal or state government.

Employee relations

The Human Resource department will work on improving the relationship between employer and employee by measuring employee job satisfaction, employee contribution to the growth of the company, and also generate solutions to resolve workplace conflict.

Risk management

The Human Resource department is required to ensure that the workplace is safe and employees are aware of the health and safety protocol. In cases of injuries of staff during operation, the Human Resource manages the worker’s compensation claims, investigates the incident and recommends necessary amendments in the safety procedures.

Skills Required for Human Resources

Communication skills

The role of Human Resource is dealing with people. Therefore, they will need to be clear and informative while communicating with people through phone calls, e-mails, and conducting interviews with candidates. They are also required to have excellent writing skills in drafting company policy to avoid miscommunication.

Adaptability skills

Adapting skills are necessary for Human Resource professionals to forecast the need for changes to improve the work environment. The business industry is changing from time to time. Thus, they will need to reconstruct their current company policies and also generate new policies that are relevant and effective.

Critical thinking

Critical thinking helps Human Resource to deal with a difficult situation from a rational point of view. Whether it involves resolving conflicts or issues between the employees, critical thinking helps them to put forward viewpoints and effective ideas to improve the work environment

Organizational skills

Human Resource employees are required to monitor various records and files related to each employee. They handle tons of paperwork of hiring, firing, and employee performance records. So, Human Resource employees must keep this information organized, safe, and accessible. They also need to keep sensitive information separated and only share it with people when it is necessary.

The Future of the Events Industry - Should You Still Pursue Your Dream Career?

As the Covid-19 pandemic took over the world, we have seen shifts in every dimension of our lives- the pace of change we have experienced in the past year; technological, social, behavioral or otherwise, has almost transcended the entirety of the past decade. Events is one industry that has been uprooted almost entirely.

Understandably, there is a degree of uncertainty when it comes to the future of the industry. Event planners have had to rewrite the entire exhibitions rulebook. Experiences that they have been building throughout their careers were suddenly rendered useless and irrelevant, and they have had to quickly acquire new skills and reimagine the future of events.

Its a New Dawn for the Events Industry - One With More Promise Than We Can Imagine

Over the last year or so, we have seen several companies take their events online, and found creative, innovative ways to connect with the audience. For the foreseeable future, virtual remains the only way to connect, but it is still, pretty much uncharted territory.

In a sea of uncertainty, we can either choose to drown in it, or focus on what we can control. One thing we can do is increase our knowledge of the new technological advancements, get tech-savvy, and familiarise ourselves in virtual technology.

Event planners have been presented with an opportunity to find new ways to balance the virtual world with the online world, and find new tools to stimulate online engagement. We are envisioning a future incorporated with VR and AR elements to enhance personalisation.

Though it is still in its early stages, the new era of the events industry will set the stage for generations to come.

The Landscape of the Events Industry Has Been Turned Inside Out, and Things May Never Go Back to the Way It Was - and That is Not a Bad Thing!

The link between physical space and events is barely hanging on by a thread at this point. We need to prepare for a reality where physical events may never matter again. Perhaps by the time we make it out of this pandemic, the nature of networking will be changed beyond recognition.

As the events industry moves forward, so does technology and the generations attached to it. Event planners have already started moving on from catering to the Millennials to catering to Generation Z – the group of people who were practically raised by the internet. So, it makes perfect sense for the future of the events industry to be hybrid events, or even entirely virtual.

No matter how much change we go through, one thing will always remain constant. People are always looking for new experiences. Event planners are given a chance to push the boundaries and find new ways to convey captivating experiences, specifically tailored to meet the ever-so-changing requirements and preferences of the people.

If you ask us, this is the perfect time to get into the events industry. Become an early adopter, stay so ahead of the curve that the curve becomes a sphere!

Study Physiotherapy in Malaysia 2020

Sharing is caring :)

Fun Fact: It was the expatriates that brought physiotherapy into Malaysia and later on, Malaysians were sent under Colombo plan scholarship to service the country. Hence the birth of the Malaysian Physiotherapy Association on 19th January 1963 which was registered on 6th August the same year.

But what is physiotherapy? Why did the Malaysian government find it necessary to send her people to Colombo to service the country? Let us dive deeper into this field.

What is physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy also commonly known as physical therapy, is a healthcare profession that treats patients to restore and maintain their mobility, health, fitness and well-being. This profession emphasizes on the ‘whole person’ approach by focusing on both prevention and rehabilitation of physical health.

Physiotherapists study the science of movement. They specialized in hands-on clinical skills to assess, diagnose and treat illness, injury and disability. Not only that, they have the expertise to pinpoint the cause of the patients’ injuries and they will treat the illness using physiotherapy treatments.

So if patients suffer from stroke, movement loss or even sporting injuries, physiotherapists can help them to get back their physical fitness.

Types of Physiotherapy treatments

There are several types of physiotherapy treatments and on this article we will be focusing on:

Whirlpool

This treatment is a form of hydrotherapy and is used to improve circulation, maintain clean wounds or even control inflammation. Whirlpool can be hot or cold depending on the patients’ injuries. This whirlpool bath has a motor that helps the water to move around the treated body part.

Kinesiology Taping

Also called K-Tape, is a treatment where the tape will be adhered to the skin for a few days to relieve pain, facilitate and inhibit muscles and manage swelling or bruising. The tape is made of flexible fabric that stretches and pulls as patients move.

Soft Tissue Mobilisation

This treatment uses hands-on techniques on patients’ muscles and ligaments due to soft tissue injury. It can help relax tense muscles and reduce scar tissue. Besides that, this treatment can also help in reducing swelling, circulate blood flow and relieving pain in athletic injuries.

Range of Motion (ROM) Exercises

This treatment refers to the movement of a joint from its fully flexed position to its fully extended position. There are 3 types of ROM exercises: passive, active assistance exercises and active exercises. Both passive exercises and active assistance exercises require physiotherapists to help and monitor the patients. On the other hand, active exercises patients perform movements without the assistance from physiotherapists.

Traction

Traction is a manual technique to reduce pressure on affected backbone discs that cause pain. This treatment involves manual stretching of the spine where physiotherapists use their hands to create a force on the joints and muscles to widen the spaces between vertebrae. This is to treat low back pain and neck pain to improve mobility in spines.

Reasons to Study Physiotherapy
